Above: The painting depicts the advancing of mid-wartime era enlisted troops of the German 13th Baviarian Infantry Regiment. They wear the 1910 uniform with red piped trousers with the steel helmet, which was introduced in 1916. The chemical protective mask is also carried. (Thanks to Everett Padro for some corection here)
