Paul Murzel Memorial Painting  

Hauptmann Paul Murzel served with Foot Artillery Battalion Number 31, and died September 1916 at Saint Wendel, Trier, Germany. Since this is not an area involved in the fighting, he may have been a casualty due to illness or perhaps succumbed to wounds at this location. The artist of this memorial painting is not known. Unfortunately, no other information seems to be available. I know that this painting was with his records and medal group but tragically was sold separately and the seller did not photograph these other parts of his group.
