Prussian Field Artillery Landwehr Enlisted Pickelhaube

Above: Prussian Field or Foot Artillery Landwehr (Reserve Component for the State/Land of Prussia). The Landwehr Cross placed high on the eagle indicates Landwehr Service where as a lower placed Cross is for Reserve Service. (A distinction almost the same as our US Army National Guard vs/ US Army Reserve) Notice that there is not a "Mit Gott fuer Koeng und Vaterland --1813" motto scroll on the eagle's wings. The same motto appears on the Landwehr Cross.  In much older age the man would pass to Landsturm Service (much like our US State Defense Forces). The chin strap and kockades are reproductions on this helmet
